This is an unframed print from a limited edition of 100, each of which is printed by hand by me in my studio in Devon on quality, acid free, 250gsm printmaking paper, using quality Caligo Safewash printmaking inks. Because all my prints are handmade, they may vary in colour and tone from the photograph.

I came across this row of trees near my home on the edge of Dartmoor on a slightly misty morning. They sit at the bottom of the moor, where rough grass and bracken turn into pasture fields.
I made this print using several techniques and three separate passes through the press. First I carved the plate with the trees on it, then I made a plate for the hill.
I inked and printed the hill plate first, with a blended roll of colour rolled on to the plate at an angle, then added the trees in black on top, then, when that was dry, inked the sky in two colours and passed that through the press to finish.
