This print is an unframed, handmade original. It is one of 10 artist’s proofs I am offering as the limited edition of 90 has now sold out.
The paper is Somerset printmaking paper, made at St Cuthbert’s Mill at Wells, and the inks I used were Caligo Safewash printmaking inks.

I carved the trees using linocut tools and made the textured foreground using wood engraving tools to make thousands of tiny marks.
This image is based on a real group of trees on the way to the sea in South Devon. I liked the mix of trees. The Monterey pines are often found near the coast in Devon and Cornwall. When setting off to walk the stunning coastal path, the beautiful shapes of these trees are a sign I’m nearly there.
Because all my prints are made by hand the colours and tones may vary slightly from the image shown here.
